FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1. WHO IS THIS PROGRAM FOR?

The program is designed for boys in 5th–11th grade, ages 10–17, including recreational and developing players, players preparing for school basketball, players who did not make their school team, and players looking for additional development and competitive experience.

2. ARE THERE TRYOUTS?

No. This is a developmental program, not a tryout-based program. Players complete an evaluation so our coaches can identify their needs and determine the best training group.

3. HOW DO GROUP A & GROUP B WORK?

Players are grouped based on skill level, developmental needs, and current playing status. Groups are not “better” or “worse” and may change as players develop. Players currently in-season with a school team can receive minimal to non-contact training.

4. HOW MANY PLAYERS ARE ON EACH TEAM?

Our goal is approximately 7–9 players per team. Small rosters provide more repetitions, individual coaching, and meaningful opportunities to compete.

5. IS PLAYING TIME GUARANTEED?

Our philosophy is Everyone Plays. Players will receive opportunities to compete; however, playing time may vary based on attendance, effort, game situations, player development, and other coaching considerations.

6. CAN A PLAYER JOIN AFTER THE PROGRAM HAS STARTED?

Yes, if space is available. Players joining mid-program will complete an evaluation and be placed into the appropriate training group/team based on their developmental needs and available roster space.

7. WILL TUITION BE PRORATED FOR PLAYERS WHO JOIN LATE?

It depends on the enrollment date. Tuition may or may not be prorated when joining during an active payment period. If a player enrolls after a scheduled payment cutoff/due date has passed, the remaining program tuition will be prorated accordingly based on the point at which they enter the program.

8. WHAT IS THE REFUND POLICY?

Program payments are generally non-refundable once applied to program expenses, including uniforms, gym rental, training, tournament registrations, coaching, and other operating costs. Any refund or credit consideration will depend on the timing and circumstances of the withdrawal and any expenses already committed on the player's behalf.

9. ARE TRAVEL EXPENSES INCLUDED IN TUITION?

Tournament registration is included in program tuition. Family travel expenses are not included, such as hotels, transportation, meals, and other personal expenses. Our tournament schedule is intentionally built with family time and overall travel costs in mind.

10. WHAT HAPPENS IF A PRACTICE, CAMP, OR TOURNAMENT CHANGES?

Schedules are planned in advance, but school activities, facility availability, weather, tournament changes, or circumstances outside of Hoopers Paradise's control may require adjustments. Families will be notified as soon as possible, and reasonable schedule adjustments will be made when possible.
